Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to the L.G. Nourse Elementary School!

Dear L.G. Nourse Community, genius hard-working team player

I am so excited and truly honored to be a part of the Norton School family! Just as I have been so warmly welcomed into the LGN Family, let me welcome you. We are known from our motto and  hashtag, “Little School, Big Heart”! On behalf of our entire LGN  family, I want to welcome you to our  amazing school.

We are a K to Grade 3 school with approximately 300 students.  Our dedicated and caring faculty and staff provide a safe,  nurturing environment that challenges students with rigorous,  enriching, and age appropriate educational experiences. Our  Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science  curricula are closely aligned to the Massachusetts State Frameworks. In addition to our core instruction, we offer Art, Wellness, STEAM, and Music.

As Principal, it is important to me that we work each day to fulfill our mission of promoting individual talents and maximizing each student’s potential. Our goal is to focus on each child’s potential and ability to grow- not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and physically.  Staff members, students, and families need to work together to move the school forward, ensure that all children are receiving the best education possible, and make certain that we all feel comfortable, safe and supported within these walls. We are all members of a team working toward a common goal of student success. Learning becomes more meaningful when we are happy, excited, and having fun.

We have a very active Parent Teacher Connection (PTC), parent volunteer program, and multiple opportunities for families to get involved. The PTC generally meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM in our cafeteria. All are welcome!

The L.G. Nourse is a very special place to learn and grow. Please know that I am always available to meet and talk if anyone has a question, concern, idea, etc. We look forward to partnering with you in providing the best possible experiences for your children. Here’s to another great year of learning at the LGN!
Sincerely,
